MEET SYDNEY

My name is Sydney Garrabrant and I am a Strength Coach at Lynx Fitness Club, where I specialize in building a strong client relationship and help identify fitness, wellness, strength and nutrition goals for my clients. I graduated from Westfield State University with an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science. My degree educated me on anatomy, nutrition, exercise physiology, and sports psychology . Exercise science was only the beginning, this bachelor degree then led me to higher education at Merrimack College . During my studies I was educated in Strength and Conditioning where I earned my Masters Degree. During my time at Merrimack, I worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Brandeis University where I implemented my knowledge of coaching and programming to various sports teams during different seasons for both men and women’s sports. Another noted strength coaching experience was a coaching position at Athletic Performance Training where I was able to use my skills working with high level Hockey players.

As a result of my life long passion for health, strength, nutrition, fitness and work/life balance for myself and my clients, my career has led me to Boston. I am confident I have found my meaning of empowering those who want to see change . I have found through all my education, coaching experiences, and learning about the needs of people , that I will be pursuing my future career as a one on one Personal Training Coach. I have found passion and joy helping individuals identify their needs and goals , and reaching them together is what drives me. I have been coaching individuals now for over 4 years .

Growing up as a young athlete in multiple sports , it was the highlight of my young life. Being part of a team gave me the ability to belong, build confidence, distress, be competitive and have a sense of community. One thing I noticed I was lacking was strength and conditioning. It really held me back. I began to look at my nutrition, and my off season training. Through hard work, studying information I was unaware of, I became dedicated to learning and being the best version of myself. This was all self taught, and I wish I had a coach to teach me all of what I know now. As a result of this training and lifestyle changes , I evolved into the strongest, fastest, and most confident I had ever been. This changed my life, and I knew if I could transform my mind, body and athletic performance for myself in such a drastic and positive way, I would spend the rest of my life helping others do the same.

My passion as a coach is to help my clients identify their health, strength and fitness goals and create an attainable approach and comprehensive plan to achieve the best you , you can be.
