MEET MEL

Hi everyone, my name is Mel!

I’ve been around sports and athletics for as long as I can remember! I’ve played basketball from a very young age, and continued to play it at high level by having the opportunity to play overseas before Covid hit! As much as I loved the sport and other sports as well, what I found most interesting was the science behind how athletes training was geared towards the sports they played.

My interest grew into the training industry and I wanted to learn more. I received both my Bachelors in Exercise Science as well as a Bachelors in Nutrition, to be able to learn and apply as much as I can to help others.

My background is in strength and conditioning as I worked at Harvard University with the Division 1 athletes there. I worked primarily with Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s Hockey, and Women’s / Men’s Basketball!

What made me make the switch from the athletic setting to Personal Training was being given the ability to directly impact others. I’ve worked with a wide range of people from athletes, surgeons, software engineers as well as older populations. Regardless of occupation or age, as humans we are all athletes.

My goal as a coach is to help individuals reach their personal goals, as well as giving people the ability to create life habits that they will take with them moving forward. Whether you want to lose fat, gain strength or build muscle, it all starts with a commitment you make to yourself. My goal is to help you stick to that commitment, reach those goals, and create habits you will bring with you beyond your training.

There wont be a perfect day of eating or a perfect day of exercising either. By working together, we can create a lifestyle that will support you and your goals. We will work together so you can enjoy life’s adventures without the fear of taking a step back. So you can lean into those “nights out” and enjoy while still seeing progress.

I am always trying to challenge myself and learn more as the science constantly updates. I am very excited to join the Lynx community!

Outside of fitness I am a huge Celtics fan, I love dogs and my favorite food is buffalo wings (ranch lover here, blue cheese is not it).
