5 Reasons Why Virtual Training Works

Staying home. It's one of the most predominant changes we've had to make during the COVID-19 crisis, and while we are 100% team #flattenthecurve, this adjustment in lifestyle hasn't come without it's challenges. As it pertains to your fitness routine, we've certainly had to get creative and whether you are used to taking your favorite group fitness class, meeting your workout buddy daily or working out 1:1 with your personal trainer, the struggle is real!

Lynx Personal Trainer Nicole Parolisi and client performing wall balls

Here at Lynx, our personal training team is an educated, professional, and creative group of experts who have adapted quickly to the world of virtual training. In fact, many of our trainers already had “virtual” clients, so the learning curve was quite small.

You might be wondering though..."Is virtual training the same value as in-person training?" YES. Trust us when we say that virtual training works. Sure, it may seem different than your typically in-person personal training session; however, it’s fundamentally the exact same. An expert trainer can create an effective session with a broomstick, a basketball, and a backpack full of books just as well as they can with a full gym of Rogue equipment. It's all about knowledge, creativity, and trust. Lucky for you, our team has all three qualities and more!

Once we take the time to help you get your technology set-up (Zoom, FaceTime etc...this can often be a roadblock but don't let it be, we've done the thinking for you and will walk you through each step) and training area squared away, you will be pleasantly surprised how well this works. We offer one 30-minute complimentary assessment to anyone who is interested in trying virtual training. You can schedule your assessment with a member of our team by emailing membership@lynxfitnessclub.com

If you aren't convinced yet, here are five reasons why virtual training is equally if not more effective:

  1. You have the time. There are no more excuses about long commutes, traffic or juggling various locations. Take advantage of the extra time in your day and keep yourself healthy. Our team will find the time of day that works best for you and help you keep a routine that works with your “new normal”.

  2. Accountability increases. As with any workout routine, holding yourself accountable is the key to being consistent. With virtual training, your coach will see you on video during every session. We will take it one step further to hold you accountable with weekly nutrition, sleep, and mindfulness check-ins.

  3. There are less distractions. Our coach will be observing you and only you. Our focus is your workout and nothing else. By minimizing outside distractions that we sometimes find in a gym setting, we are able to focus more, work harder and have a greater impact on your training session. We would argue that the 1:1 value increases virtually.

  4. Creativity flows. We view virtual training from the perspective of “it’s not that different”. In fact, a limitation in equipment requires us to be creative! When we alter your workout styles and equipment used, it forces the body to work in different ways, which leads to different muscles working hard and a greater overall conditioning for the body.

  5. Your mind needs this. Whether you live alone, have a roommate or a full house – we all need alone time. Staying connected to the outside world during this unprecedented time is critical for our mental, emotional and physical health. It is important to maintain a healthy mind-body connection by exercising and connecting 1:1 with your coach.

So, do you agree now that virtual training is an excellent substitution for in-person training in our current state? Yes! Great, let us help you stay healthy during this trying time. Fill out the form below if you haven’t yet scheduled your first virtual training assessment, this one's on us.
